Visiting Sydney with mom
Friday was the day we decided to spend the day in Sydney and besides seeing the church we were able to see mom's childhood homes and downtown Sydney where we enjoyed a great Lunch at the Governor Pub and Eatery. It was lovely and we enjoyed every minute of exploring the city.
We were also fortunate to see the cemetery where mom's parents and brothers are buried. It was an emotional time but we are so glad to have seen it.the white house was mom's first house at 54 St. Peters road and the second was 129 High St. We also visited the site of her school Colby which has been torn down so we have no pictures. We also had to see the Sydney Academy which is where she went to high school most of it has been renovated so we have a picture of the sign. There are many cruise ships that come into Sydney and this has sure helped the economy in this wee place. The downtown area has downtown days and there were

activities and sidewalk sales. We also visited the Marconi historic site where the first transatlantic signals were tapped out. Mom's dad James was one of Marconi's operators and mom remembers him working in the house tapping away. There is one picture in the museum of his back working on the system. The whole area where the museum is located is called Table Head and the outdoor shots were taken close to the cliff.
