Kennedy Space Centre!

Today was the day I decided to take MacLean to the KSC. It is truly and awesome place and a chance to see shuttle simulators, lots of videos and for us a chance to see Discovery on the launch pad. It was supposed to be flying this week but got scrubbed so we were able to see it from afar. We started our day with Dunkin Donuts and then off to the space centre We arrived just about 11 am and headed in to buy our tickets. Now being the good Press girl we headed straight to the bus tour as that would be the bulk of our day. The bus takes us out to three spots on the grounds, Launch pad area 39, saturn 5 and the international space station facility. We had an amazing time going to all the stops and reading, taking pictures and watching the videos. The bus is set up that you can come and go as you please and it was about three and a half hours before we got back to the main visitor centre. We had such a wonderful time exploring the different places and on the bus the drivers pointed out some of the wildlife. This included the many alligators one which was about 6 feet long sunning on the side of the bank. Then we saw an amazing eagles nest which was about 8 feet wide and on the post we saw the eagle. What a beautiful sight. One of the main buildings was the vehicle assembly building which houses the shuttle and puts it all together before it heads out to the launch pad. We were lucky to see Discovery sitting on the pad before the April 5 launch. Once we headed back to the main building we went to the Shuttle flight simulator and opted to watch instead of go on the ride neither one of us handle these rides well. We also got a chance to go and look in Endeavor shuttle before heading to the rocket garden.

It was so much fun we both had a great day and often wondered how seven hours flew by.
Enjoy
PS the pics are from my dad's camera mine died. I guess it is time for a new one!
