The Sugar Bush!

Last weekend MacLean and I took Annemarie to the Sugar Bush for the full adventure. We got on the wagon and rode out to the bush. Then we wondered through and enjoyed all the stories and taffy, how they made the syrup and all the yummy treats along the way. we sawed the wood for Annemarie to get a branded maple leaf on a piece of wood etc. Then we wondered back to the wagon and into the sugar shack for a yummy lunch of pancakes, eggs, peameal bacon, etc. All with yummy maple syrup on top! Then we headed to the petting zoo before the gift shop and then home. Annemarie was able to get some yummy syrup and treats to take back to Venezuela.
What a fun day, Annemarie has enjoyed all our game playing, chatting and fun times. We spent this week making a list for her to pick up last minute items to take home. Yesterday we went to dollarama, walmart and a few other stops for her to buy, gum, chocolate, marbles, games and all kinds of other stuff!
It has been a long few months but we have enjoyed many aspects of this Homestay experience. I will look forward to having my house back to "normal" and get ready to have a break from "hosting".
Enjoy the pics!
